Swarovski Crystal Eyelet Bracelet and Earrings by Judith Goldstone Designs, $108
With the impossibility of wearing all the jewelry she wants to create, the only logical solution was to offer them to the public. In 2005, Judith Goldstone began creating distinctive, handcrafted pieces for the customers of her bridal boutique Picker’s. After selling the boutique in the Fall of 2007, she recognized that jewelry-creation was in her blood. It was an endeavor she wanted to continue pursuing and so in October 2007, Judith Goldstone Designs was born. A month later, her web site was launched.
With no formal training, Judi’s talent is intuitive and inherited from a very artistic family, with many relatives having been recognized for their talents in the areas of art, theater, and music.
She works mostly with Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, semi-precious and precious stones. She accepts special orders for changes in color, size, or for one-of-a-kind creations. Each piece has a signature hand-wrapped bead of brown goldstone with gold flecks and all orders are gift-ready, delivered in a gold organza drawstring pouch.
Judi’s creations are available in retail stores, in the gift gallery of acclaimed museum Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, and online. Price points range from $30 to $200.
We received the Swarovski Crystal Eyelet Bracelet and its matching earrings. The bracelet is created with three different shapes of black, copper and topaz crystals – bicone, helix and rondelles. Its length is 7” and retails for $79. The earring is made of the same crystals on a gold chain. Its length is 1.5” and retails for $29.
The first thing I noticed when I opened this package is the sparkle emanating from both pieces, they truly shimmered.
Starting off with the bracelet, the design and color combination is simple and classic - a piece that can be worn in any season. With the basic colors of black, copper, and topaz, it’s also a piece that can be worn with just about anything. It will go with casuals such as shorts and jeans, and with dressier options such as business suits and little black dresses.
One thing I was weary about is the toggle closure. We previously reviewed a bracelet with the same type of closure that ended up getting undone unbeknownst to the reviewer, and getting lost in the process. The problem with the toggle portion of that bracelet was that it was too short. Upon inspecting this bracelet, the length of the toggle is long and I am happy to say that with all the moving around I did, the bracelet stayed closed and firmly around my wrist!
Moving onto the earrings, the length is perfect at 1.5”. It’s large enough to be noticed but small enough to be worn to the office. I love the movement of the beads, it creates even more sparkle as light hits the different shades and shapes of the crystals. It's great to find a pair of earrings that looks professional for work, and at the same time dressy enough for a night out afterwards.
As a set, I love to wear them with basic black. Even though they go with just about any outfit, I think that they look the best complementing a gorgeous little black dress, or a trendy short-sleeve pinstripe suit.
At $108 for the set, it’s super affordable and if you haven’t found a gift for mom yet, this would definitely make for a lovely present.
