'Wisdom' Medium Tote Bag by Jumeau, $139
This is the second bag I’ve reviewed from the label Jumeau - a hip, young, urban line of bags. My first review of the ‘Feather’ Shoulder Bag from the Now Collection received top ratings for its trendy style and functional design.
The line has four collections. The Now Collection features bags that are trendy, cutting edge, and progressive. The Institution Collection is geared towards the young, upwardly mobile professional looking for a functional, durable, and classically-fashion forward bag that looks good in the office as much as in a dinner meeting. The Commando Collection is progressive, urban, and provides functionality and style to those always on the go.
The Green Collection is for those who want to look hot while being earth-friendly at the same time. Focusing on natural materials such as organic cotton, bamboo, and natural dyes, this collection takes fashion to an earth-friendly sustainable level.
We received the ‘Wisdom’ Medium Tote Bag from the Green Collection in a color called ‘Deep Sea Bloo Acid Wash’. It’s available in three other colors – Desert Acid Wash, Soil Acid Wash, and Cranberry Acid Wash. It retails for $139.
This tote is as green as you can get, produced from non-harmful substances. It’s made of organic cotton, acid washed and sustainable. The details are made of recycled hardware and bamboo liner.
With heavy duty double shoulder straps, this tote is perfect for students. With the dark color and the sturdy material, it will handle abuse quite easily. It’s also so much more fashionable than what I’ve seen students carry on their backs. It has an internal zipper pocket and a full organizer for cell phone, pens, cards, etc.
For me, who is thankfully all finished with school, it’s great as a weekend bag. It’s fabulous with shorts, jeans, and swimsuits! This tote is ideal for the beach because of its roominess and ease of access. You can throw in your towel and sunblock in there along with the rest of your junk and be able to get to them quickly because of the non-zip top (magnetic single button closure).
As with the first Jumeau bag I reviewed, this one has the key keeper chain which I love. No more digging into the black hole for my keys, I just reach for the chain and grab.
In addition to the key keeper, this tote has an additional feature I really like. It’s called the quick clip alternative top closure. Basically, one end has hardware to clip onto and the other has a hanging thin long fabric with a clip. Pull together and it creates an alternative way to close the top. With the two ends clipped together towards the center, it creates a taper at the top of the bag which makes it look a lot dressier. Done this way, it’s fabulous with more stylish outfits like this organic white recycled pima cotton shirt or this organic high waist crinkled linen pants. Hey, if you’re going to go green, might as well go all the way – green shirt, green pants, and of course, Jumeau’s green bag!
