Metallic Leather Lariat and Gold Fill Wire Bracelets by in2 design, $252
Born and raised in Sweden, Inga Louise Baldwin and Inger Mark are the two I’s behind the label in2 design.
Living in the United States, both realized there was a market for Swedish-design jewelry. When they first met, Louise worked in interior design and Inger had just arrived from London where she owned a jewelry business.
After much dialogue, they recognized that their design backgrounds would complement one another in a new jewelry venture.
As a result, in2 design was born with a philosophy to create unique, fun, and affordable jewelry using only the best quality freshwater pearls, precious metals, and genuine semi-precious stones.
We received the Gold Leather Lariat from the Metallics Collection and two matching bracelets – the Citrine and the Quartz Crystal from the Gold Fill Wire Bracelets Collection. The lariat retails for $156 and the bracelets retail for $48 each.
The lariat is made from gold leather with large white pearls and crystals. It’s also available in Silver and Bronze. The bracelets are available with different stones attached.
These pieces are drop dead gorgeous, truly stunning.
Starting with the lariat, the gold leather is perfection. This piece is right on trend but in my book, it knows no seasons because I will pull it out and wear it regardless of what season it is. It’s a fusion of old and new, classic and modern. I love the feminization of leather, its use with such traditionally dainty materials such as pearls and crystals softens it and allows the piece as a whole to come together beautifully.
At $156, this piece is worth every penny because of the many ways you can wear it. Of all the jewelries I have reviewed, this would have to be the most versatile. It’s lariat-style so it’s open-ended, it doesn’t close into a loop.
As a necklace, it can be worn long, short, or anywhere in between. I had tons of fun playing with it but my favorite way to wear it as a necklace is to wrap it around a few times, choker style. It’s fantastic with a voluminous, deep v-neck blouse.
As a belt, I’ve worn it with a long white tee either up high on my waist (wrapped around twice), or as a hip belt – super chic.
With bangles being so hot this season, I thought I’d try wrapping the lariat around my wrist a few times to see if it’ll work as a bracelet. Wow, does it ever! It is so fabulous with an exquisitely embroidered color-blocked shift dress. If you’re going for a posh look, this would be it.
Onto the citrine and quartz crystal bracelets which are simple, chic, sophisticated, and very unique. Each bracelet has two stones, opposite one another. I wasn’t sure about this style at first because I thought it odd to have a stone in the back. However, once I put it on, I found that it’s actually great because regardless of how the bracelet moves around, there will always be a stone in view. One problem I’ve always had with bracelets with a single stone, is that I always I have to be conscious of the stone’s position to make sure that it’s showing at all times. With this type of bracelet, I don’t have to worry about that at all.
In fact, I found that the best way to wear the bracelets is to have the stones off to the sides, rather than dead-on center (front and back). I love to wear the two bracelets together but they’re also great worn individually, with or without the lariat. When I wear a halter top or dress like this rainbow stripe by Missoni, the bracelets are the only accessory I need. With the multi-coloration of the dress, accessories need to complement not detract and the simplicity of the citrine and quartz crystal bracelets work perfectly to complete this outfit.
Anyhow, enough blabbing, bottom line is that in2 design has fabulous, handmade jewelry that must be checked out for their chic, striking, Scandinavian simplicity.
