Laser Engraved Mother of Pearl Pendant w/ Faceted African Jade by Becca's Beads, $74.38
With a degree in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Rebecca Plumb was ready for what’s to come when she moved to Southern California in 1999. Originally from Pennsylvania, Rebecca found immediate inspiration in her new surroundings. In San Diego, where she relocated in, she began designing jewelry.
It started out as a hobby but it quickly blossomed into a flourishing business. Today, her line of handcrafted jewelry called Becca’s Beads is carried in boutiques nationwide.
Her collection currently includes earrings and large and small pendant necklaces. Rebecca describes her jewelry as wearable art that spans from the very bold to the petite, modeled after the latest trends as well as classic styles. All necklaces are accented with an original hancrafted clasp. Customized earrings, bracelets, and necklaces to match any piece are available upon request.
We received the Laser Engraved Mother of Pearl Pendant w/ Faceted African Jade. It retails for $74.38.
When I first laid eyes on this necklace, I was ecstatic that I was assigned to review it. It is absolutely stunning. The engraving on the mother of pearl pendant is exquisite and the chain made of faceted African jade is dramatic and rather striking.
The deep color of the jade is so rich and the size of the pendant is so bold. At 2.25” square, it is eye-catching and yearns to be worn by a self-assured woman who defines and is confident about her own style. It is not for the timid.
As gorgeous as the engraved side of the pendant is, the un-engraved back side is quite fabulous too. A beautiful square of an iridescent mother of pearl with its varying shades. It's so fabulous, that I decided to wear the necklace two ways - with the engraved side up and with the back side of the pendant facing out. How cool is that – 2 necklaces in 1! If I can get greedy for a moment, the necklace can actually be 3 in 1 if the pendant was removable. The faceted African jade chain is so beautiful, it will make a gorgeous necklace all by itself.
One of my favorite ways to wear it is with a solid white tube top. Paired with the necklace, it almost looks like I’m wearing a halter top with a really fancy neckline. With jeans, it’s great paired up with a white button down with a shirttail hem. For a night out, it is to die for with a black deep V neck dress like this sleek pleated shirtdress by Norma Kamali.
If this necklace takes your breath away, you need to head over to Becca’s Beads for some resuscitation. Her collection is an eclectic mix of asian inspired as well as timeless motifs using mother of pearl, woods, jades, quarts, corals, and many others. If you’re into unique pieces of jewelry that make a statement about your style and who you are, Becca’s Beads is where you need to go to get revived.
