Ayout Paris In The Springtime Necklace by Manic Trout, $45
Descending from a long line of artist and artisans, Sierra Bailey was born to create. Being an artist is not something she chose to be, it is something she was instinctively driven to.
She attended The School of Art and Design at Syracuse University, staying there as long as possible, and taking every art class she can possibly cram into her schedule. Eventually, she earned a BFA in Computer Graphics with a minor in Painting.
After graduation, she continued to explore many avenues of art and design, but in the past two years, has chosen to focus and polish her skills on her true loves – jewelry and painting.
Manic Trout is where you can find Sierra’s creations, her handmade jewelry, drawings, oil and watercolor paintings. She designs and creates handmade jewelry that is both colorful and unique and always fun to wear. When not creating jewelry, Sierra paints original paintings largely abstract expressionistic with oils, watercolor and collage. She tends to delve into her mediums and liberally play with color, creating vibrant and energetic works.
Sierra’s relentless desire to explore new ideas and to find new outlets for her imagination keeps her fully occupied, so much so, that she has to force herself to not sleep in her studio. When not creating and running Manic Trout, she tries hard to stay away from work for a few hours and take respite walking her dog Faye.
We received the Ayout Paris In The Springtime necklace from Manic Trout's Paris In The Springtime necklace collection. It retails for $45.
The necklace is 16.5 inches long and is made of black Czech glass beads on either side of 5 large red glossy vintage plastic round beads. It is hand-knotted with bright red acrylic yarn and closes with a vintage red plastic button and loop clasp.
It is a one-of-a-kind creation so you will not be able to purchase the same one, but other colors are available for purchase in the same style from the Paris In The Springtime collection.
We’ve all had necklaces that looked great on the display rack, but didn’t look all that hot once we got them around our necks. This piece from Manic Trout is the total opposite. It doesn’t appear extra spectacular at first sight, but after I put it on, I was truly surprised at how striking it looked. Hot, hot, hot!
The color of the vintage red beads is so rich, it makes me wonder where they’ve been, what they’ve been used for, and who they have adorned. In the photo, the beads look orangy, but in person, they are vividly red.
The vintage red button in the closure is very voguish. It screams to be seen so I love wearing the necklace with my hair up so I can show it off.
Red and black is so classic and elegant, and to use yarn to string the two together is so bold. It gives the necklace a casual edge, a ‘don’t-take-me-too-seriously’ attitude with drama queen undertones.
Whether you want to be taken seriously or not, one thing this necklace will definitely do for you, is make you stand out. Try it with this smocked tube dress by Fire, and let the drama begin!
