A SINGLE AS SOON AS NOV!

Britney Spears snuck into West Hollywood eatery The Little Door last night, September 11, for dinner, looking quite surprised to see the paparazzi (although at this point, shouldn't she be used to them constantly being present?). Wearing a black leather jacket (check out Gold Hawk's Ruffle Leather Jacket in Moonless Night) over a pink ombre longsleeve polo (the shade of Ecoganik's Thermal Henley Top in Merlot), Britney slipped her now-toned-again gams into a pair of black straight leg denim (like Denim of Virtue's Justice Flap Pocket Straight Leg Jean in Jet Black). Accessory wise, Brit-Brit carried a cream-colored Louis Vuitton bag (Posse New York's Beatriz Bag in Cream is similar and much more wallet-friendly than BS' LV) and wore a turquoise ring. She definitely is looking great, although there is that one outfit flaw that I have to point out: the brown shoes with the black outfit! And you know Britney's not doing it in a fashion-forward, edgy way... girl just doesn't know any better. Huge pet peeve. Oh well, I ain't mad at her! Her progress is great, keep it up B! In other exciting Britney news, JustJared.com is reporting that Brit's bosses at RCA have been very impressed by her lately. A source says, "Britney’s last album, Blackout, was released in the middle of her meltdown and carried negative associations. It did OK but wasn’t as big as her previous releases. Label chiefs vowed her private life would never be allowed to overshadow her career again. However, they’ve been astonished by how well she’s managed to piece her life back together. The RCA bosses are reportedly planning to release a single in November then a big relaunch in December with the album and live shows." Very exciting news!!

A DAZZLING WIN

A dazzling Britney Spears swept the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards last night, September 7, winning 3 awards including the top honor of the night, Video of the Year. Wearing a sparkling Versace number (check out similar numbers like LaROK's Sequin Patchwork Racerback Mini in Grey or Betsey Johnson's Sequin Strip Dress in Pewter) with silver heels and drop earrings, Britney has never looked better. Winning her first EVER Video Music Award (and three in total) must have been such a highlight in BritBrit's not so great year. While she didn't perform like the rumors that spread suggested she would, she did introduce the show with a funny skit with Jonah Hill. She is finally seeming to be back to her gorgeous, happy self, and I for one can't wait for her REAL comeback!

BRITNEY'S FIRST INTERVIEW IN 2 YEARS

Britney Spears was spotted making a stop at Lisa Kline while shopping on Robertson on August 10, wearing a handmade beaded necklace with the names of her two boys, Preston and Jayden around her neck. Looks like Britney and her boys had a little arts and crafts time! For her outfit, Britney chose a flowy white tee (like Smitten's Cap Sleeve V Neck Top in Ivory) over a pair of green shorts (check out Johnson's Millicent Short in Kale) with flip flops (at least they're not those heinous stained pink fuzzy moon boots!) and her go-to white hobo bag. B also accessorized with the square frames she's been loving so much (similar in shape to JeeVice Optics' Red Hot Sunglasses in Brown Fade) and a pair of dangle earrings (similar to Amy DiGregorio's Stockbridge Earrings in Gold). With her hair wavy and her smile looking like a million bucks, BritBrit sure did look might cute last weekend! She opened up to OK! Magazine this week for her "first interview in two years," and spoke out about everything from her routine with her boys when they stay with her, to what she likes to cook, to growing closer with her parents to her little sister having a baby. Regarding Jamie Lynn's child, she said, "That was special, but it was also strange because she’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling. I was shocked a little bit. But it was really cool, and she was happy. When she got to the hospital, we all thought it was going to be an all-day thing, and instead, the baby just sort of popped out. Okay, we’re happy now!" Brit also mentioned that her boys will be meeting Jamie Lynn's little one in the very near future- precious!

BRITNEY'S VMA PROMO

Britney Spears was spotted indulging in a little retail therapy (and causing a paparazzi frenzy while doing so) as she hit up Intermix on Robertson Blvd. in LA on August 5. Super casual for her day out, BritBrit chose a pair of comfy sweatpants (Ecoganik's Mala Rope Pant in Denim is 100% organic cotton) with a white tank (check out Wifebeader's Cotton Ribbed Tank in White) and sporty sneakers. She accessorized with a pair of oversized square sunnies (very similar to JeeVice Optics' Red Hot Sunglasses in Brown Fade), a blue and gold beaded necklace (like Lisa K Designs' Greece Necklace in Gold) and an oversized white hobo bag with gold chain detail. I must say, Britney is really starting to look like her old self again! Her skin looks great, she looks happy and is slimming down to her pre-KFed body. Honestly, if someone told me this picture was taken circa her Crossroads days, I would have believed them. Looking great, B! In other Britney news, it seems the pop princess shot a promo for the 2008 MTV VMA's with first-time host, Russel Brand (check out the photo HERE). An on-set source said, "It was mostly ad-libbed, with Russell asking her for advice about hosting the show. There's also a 9,000-pound elephant in it, as in 'the elephant in the room.'" So obviously people are wondering since Britney is filming promos for the awards show if that means she will be performing... MTV declined comment, but I am staying optimistic!

A SUMMER ROMANCE FOR BRITNEY?

Britney Spears was spotted by a loooong telephoto lens catching some rays in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Saturday, July 26, looking mighty fine. Britney's body is slowly but surely (emphasis on the surely) getting back to her "Slave 4 U" days (at least I hope it is), and she flaunted every inch in a twisted white bikini (just like Tyler Rose Swimwear's La Malmaison Twist Bandeau Bikini in White) and a pair of big sunnies (like Nour's Moman Sunglasses in Street). While she is relaxing in Mexico, it seems that Brit-Brit might have found herself a summer romance with a mystery man. Allegedly, sources are saying that "Britney looked great in her bikini. She was having a great time with this mystery man, they seemed close. The pair were seen hugging and dancing together then jumped into the sea to cool off. Britney’s had a tough 18 months but she’s starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. She’s realized it’s all about moderation now. For a long time it was all about her career, then all about her family, then all about partying. Now she’s starting to get a better balance on things." Work it out, B!

SONG REVENGE

Britney Spears was spotted on the blue carpet of the Generation Rescue Fundraiser on July 19, hosted by Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, making this her first appearance at an event since Christian Audigier's birthday. Clad in a sexy satin LBD (check out Miguelina's Naomi Dress in Black, Black Halo's Strapless Jackie O Dress in Black, or Tricia Fix's Kirsten Satin Mini Dress in Black for similar options) with black Loubs and a silver heart necklace (just like Femme Metale's Pierced Heart Necklace in Silver), this is probably the first time in FOREVER that I've seen Brit-Brit start to resemble her former, sexy self. The hair's not a total mess and she seems to be toning up... keep it coming, B! We all know that she's been in the studio lately working on her new album, and now MTV News is reporting that Britney is seeking revenge on her mom, Lynn, and former flame Justin Timberlake (she's STILL not over this yet??) on a few new tracks. The Sunday Mirror is reporting that Britney's new songs, which somehow they got a hold of, are "raw and furious," and that one song, titled "ATM", contains the lyrics "Hey, Mama, I know it’s my cash you seek/ You know they treat me like an ATM/ But y’all know that I’m too good for ‘em." Also on the record is a song called "Already Bad," which is aimed at Spears' ex Timberlake. The reported lyrics are, "I know you thought you were the first/ But I had already quenched my thirst/ I was already bad." While no one knows yet if these lyrics and songs are for real, Spears' rep had no comment. What do you think though; if these are for real, does it sound like Britney is going in a good musical direction?

BRIT'S CAMEO IN THE MADONNA VIDEO

Britney Spears was spotted sporting a brand new and miraculously roadkill-free weave as she headed out of the B2V Salon in LA on July 8, as B was getting all spruced up for her big appearance in Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet Tour" video. Sporting a patterned frock (check out Parameter's Circle Print Dress in White and Black) with Juicy Couture sandals and a huge white handbag (like Linea Pelle's Dylan Patchwork Tote), Brit-Brit's style seems to finally, slowly be shaping up. The cameo in the video for Madonna's tour that Britney is shooting is, according to Madonna's publicist Liz Smith, "filming some time this week. That is all the information I have available. The rest is 'a secret.'" Very exciting- can't wait to see what these two come up with this time around!

BRITNEY WANTS GREENER PASTURES

Britney Spears hit up the West Hollywood restaurant Sur on June 26, looking the most put together we've seen her in a while. Her hair isn't a mess and she's not wearing those boots... what more can I ask for! Wearing an embellished black mini dress (the golden accents of Lotta Stensson's Mod Dress in Black are similar to the colorful accents of Brit-Brit's) with her hair pulled back in a ponytail, Spears carried a black handbag (similar to Jenny Yuen Handbags' Sherlock Satchel in Black) and slipped her tootsies into a pair of wedges (Matiko Footwear's Abril Wedge in Gold are similar to Britney's but have an added flash of gold) for her dinner out. While she is seeming to be more like a normal citizen and less like an escapee from the looney bin lately, it seems that Brit longs to move her and her family to a new house that, according to court documents, "is greener, quieter and with a bigger backyard for Sean Preston and Jayden to play in." Britney also seems to want to find a home in a location that is "less trafficked" than her Beverly Hills and Malibu homes, which are regular starting points for the money-shot hungry paparazzi. Sounds like her head is in the right place!

VMA DO-OVER?

As tempted as I was to crop those hideously awful disgusting boots out of this sighting, I didn't... but I do have to say, those things must be like the most comfortable shoes ever invented because otherwise I have no idea why Britney Spears would wear those in public. Or even in private for that matter. Barf! Looking happy and glowing, Britney stepped out at LAX on June 21 in a pretty little dress (check out Prarie New York's Mini Halter Dress in Coco Latice or Kelly Cushing's Mini Scarf Dress with Sash in Topkapi Print) with brown shades (like JeeVice Optics' Sassy Sunglasses in Brown Fade) and those aforementioned boots which I can't even talk about anymore. Just think how cute this look would have been with a pair of Loubs or even some killer gladiator sandals, but, sigh... I digress. While we all know that Britney's performance at last year's VMA's was one of the most talked about television performances of the year, it seems that the president of MTV Networks Music Group, Van Toffler, thinks that Brit should have another go at it this year. He said, "Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right? I'm not sure how we top Britney opening the show. We are working on it every minute of every day." Umm... how about having her open it again this year? Duh!

WORKING ON A NEW ALBUM

For a girl who has had a lot of problems in the past few years (that's an understatement), I really love when I see pictures of Britney Spears looking truly happy. I think the ultimate low Britney point that I saw was probably 3 or 4 months ago, when she was sitting outside of her gated community barefoot in the middle of the night crying and telling the paparazzi to "please just go away," and seriously that was heartbreaking. I know many of you are thinking "that's the price of fame," but Britney really has paid that price way more than anyone else out there in Hollywood right now, and probably ever. Keep up the smiles, B! Seen here on May 31 heading into a voice lesson, Brit-Brit wore a chocolate colored silk frock (check out Gold Hawk's Solid Ruffle Dress in Soft Praline) and accessorized with a pair of yellow flip flops, a metallic silver bag (like Julie K Handbags' Debby Tote with Zipper Pockets in Star), and square shades (check out JeeVice Optics' Red Hot Sunglasses in Brown Fade). While Britney's latest album, "Blackout," was released not very long ago, it seems that she is gearing up to release a new set of hot tracks (and is hoping that this is the comeback album that she has been dreaming of) in the upcoming future. Producer J.R. Rotem says of Brit, "“She’s great. She’s like a master at what she does. She’s a lot more experienced than most people. She just has the ‘it’ factor that not every artist has. So it’s always nice to work with her." Additionally, a source says, "“Britney is in the experimental stages of a new album. She’s trying to find the sound and direction she wants to go in, but nothing is set in stone just yet. She has been playing the piano a lot and just singing. She says she misses ‘just singing.’” Good for Brit!

Brit & tots reunited!

Britney Spears stopped by Maestro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills for a meal with her father, Jamie Spears, on February 23, and slipped into a slinky purple number for her night out. For a similar frock, check out Lotta Stensson's purple-icious Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Plum or Gold Hawk's similar Silk Satin Dress in Bijou Blue). Brit-Brit also kept on her sunglasses all night, to shield herself from the super invasive paparazzi, as always. Snag JeeVice Optics' Evil Polarized Sunglasses in Black to be paparazzi ready. In other Britney news, she finally got to see her boys for the first time in months on Saturday, an undoubtedly happy moment for the troubled pop star. A source tells People, "The real hero was Jamie. He has taken charge, and she has visitation again." Let's hope her papa can stay around for a while to get Brit-Brit moving in the right direction again... I'm thinking good thoughts for ya, B!

Father knows best

We haven't seen much of Brit-Brit Spears on CoutureCandy lately, but that is about to change! Britney was seen shopping at Fred Segal in West Hollywood on February 15, expressing her animal nature with her exotic top. In a leopard print tank (ZG by Grimaldi's New Michael Mini in Violet Gold Leopard is a dress that doubles as a top- which would be perfect for Brit because she has quite the affinity for wearing tops as dresses!) with faded denim (like Denim of Virtue's Patience Slim Bootcut Jean in French Blue) and black shades (check out JeeVice Optics' Exquisite Sunglasses in Black), Britney definitely seemed a little more put together than we've been seeing her lately. While I can't even begin to cover all of the news slash craziness thats been going on in Spears' life lately, I can say that Brit-Brit's father, Jamie Spears, will keep temporary control over her assets until March, a ruling that was established recently. When a person is considered to be unable to take care of themselves, a court can rule a "temporary conservatorship," which is what happened in Britney's case. I'm just glad that super creepy Sam Lufti and that Adnan guy are out of the picture- they did not seem to have Britney's best interests in mind at ALL!

Brit's deposition - "gut wrenching"

Britney Spears was spotted showing up for her deposition with K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, in Los Angeles on January 21. The fact that B showed up at all nearly knocked me out of my chair, but the fact that she was actually on time... I don't think there was any way I could have mentally prepared for this fact! Wearing a slouchy, off the shoulder top (like Gold Hawk's Slouchy Cowl Sweater in Bijou Blue) with a pair of True Religion jeans (check out True Religion's Johnny Jean in Dark Baja), a black and white bag and of course a pair of knee-high leather boots (take a look at Matiko Footwear's Jada Boot in Dark Leather), Britney does look presentable, although I don't think I would have worn jeans if I was making a deposition for a custody battle! But then again, this is Brit-Brit we're talking about. Of the depo, K-Fed's lawyer told the press, "We are going over things that are very, very gut-wrenching. Just to revisit them even in your own mind would not be pleasurable. It’s not something anyone would enjoy." That's an understatement. Kaplan also mentioned that he plans of meeting with Spears many more times, as he has only gotten through "two percent" of his questions. That's a lot of upcoming chances for Britney to bail on the depositions and head to one of her local Starbucks'!

Britney's surprising new years eve date

Britney Spears was caught by the paparazzi heading into the L'Ermitage Hotel on December 18, proving that she definitely plans on keeping her favorite pair of old boots around for the new year. Seriously though, these boots will outlive us all! Wearing a red minidress (like Ecoganik's Tencel Sweater Shift Dress in Merlot) with one of her trademark caps (check out Rails' Herringbone Hat in Mocha), a black patent leather bag, a string of pearls (like Brian Nagourney Jewelry's Lariat Necklace in Pink Pearl) and of course the infamous boots, at least Brit Brit semi-coordinated the colors of her dress and her hat! I mean, I'm grasping for the positive wherever I can find it with Britney. It seems that Ms. Spears rang in 2008 with a surprising date this year, a paparazzo! That's right, OK! Weekly is reporting that B spent New Year's Eve at a beachfront mansion with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, in addition to her court appointed monitor and shutterbug Adnan Ghalib. Last month, Ghalib grabbed some headlines when he and Britney headed to the Beverly Hills Hotel late at night for "lunch". Allegedly, though, Ghalib told his buddies that the hotel trip with Brit was "the best night of his life". Hmm.. I wonder why Spears has befriended a paparazzo? Maybe she truly enjoys his company, however that seems doubtful. Probably someone who she can tip off to where she's going to be every day!

Don't count her out just yet...

Britney Spears was spotted doing some shopping at the Gap and picking up some Starbucks (as usual) on November 3 in Los Angeles, and looked (I can't believe I'm saying this) actually semi-presentable. Wearing a white turtleneck sleeveless sweater (Kushcush's Skinny Turtleneck in White and Woo's Rachel Top in Cafe are two great turtlenecks you can slip into for fall) with dark denim (like 7 for All Mankind's Lucy Jean in Marine), Chanel shades and those omnipresent leather boots of hers (not pictured), at least Brit-Brit is dressing a little more flattering lately. While her personal life has been all sorts of a hot mess lately, it seems that her newest album, "Blackout", is the best thing to happen to her in years (although I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't even know she had a new album out!). Critically well-received and really, really good (if I do say so myself)- Brit's new album is set to reach the number one spot for the week. Jessica Letkemann, editor of Billboard.com, says, "We're looking positively at a Britney #1. Britney's first day was more than twice that of her nearest competitor, on first day sales." Way to go, Brit! Someone else who seems to be rooting for Britney lately is none other than Julia Roberts, who says, "I see and hear what’s happening to Britney Spears and it’s all I can do not to move her into my guesthouse and say, ‘OK, this is how it’s going to be.’ And just take care of her." I'm thinking that may not be such a bad idea!

excuses excuses!

And the excuses begin! As I'm sure you probably already know, Britney Spears' temporary custody of her two boys was suspended because she failed to give the court accurate contact information regarding where she can be reached for the random drug tests. Britney says that this isn't her fault and blames it on her cell phone. Geez! First she blamed missing her first scheduled visitation with her kids on the faulty gate buzzer and how it never went off to let her know the kids were there, now she's blaming her cell phone reception! Brit-Brit says that the court appointed drug-testers were not able to reach her due to the terrible reception she gets at her home in Malibu. Hello- doesn't BS have a land line?? Either way, Britney says it's not her fault and wants the judge to reconsider. Excuses excuses excuses! Well, there was your daily dose of Britney... She gets one night a week

Britney Spears was seen out in LA on October 8 with little sis Jamie Lynn (this is the now-infamous crazy lady yelling at Britney and JL yelling back incident), actually looking put together (remember, this is put together, for Britney). In dark wash jeans (similar to True Religion's Johnny Jean in Dark Baja) with a grey silk floral top (like Yoana Baraschi's Mystic Rose Party Tunic in Blue or Walter's Burnout Backless Star Top in Smoke), boots, D&G sunglasses and her favorite white Versace bag, at least Brit-Brit's not out in a too-small minidress flashing her hoo-hah again! It was announced earlier this week that Britney's upcoming album, Blackout (interesting title), is being bumped up a week and will now be released on October 30. Woohoo- Halloween parties this year will be rockin' new Britney tunes for sure! Industry insiders speculate that this is because Britney's record label did not want Brit's album to compete with Celine Dion's new album, which was set to be released on the same day. Smart move, now both divas can have their time in the spotlight. The Britney courtroom drama of the day reached a conclusion, and although at first it didn't seem like it, Britney was granted one night a week that her kids will be able to stay with her, with a court-appointed supervisor. Hey, it's better than nothing… but do you think Brit even deserves this?

Fans are saying "Gimme More"!

Britney Spears was spotted leaving a bathroom at Quizno's (wow, those paps really follow her everywhere!) on September 24, and actually (dare I say it) seemed happy to see the photographers! Wearing a funky minidress (like Walter's Swiss Dot Babydoll Dress in Cream or Crispin and Basilio's Bow Dress in Oatmeal) with a pair of black shades and those everpresent leather boots of hers, Britney showed off her newly cut brown locks for the cameras. While (believe it or not) the world is still abuzz over Britney's disastrous VMA's performance, it seems like that show only made Brit's new single, "Gimme More", even more popular. It is currently number 3 on the iTunes chart this morning, and is also iTunes' number 1 downloaded ringtone. It's Britney bitch! Another person reeling from the aftermath of the VMA's is Sarah Silverman, who made that low-blow joke about Britney's kids being the "most adorable mistakes you will ever see." After receiving a lot of flack for this, Sarah shot back that "it never occurred to me that would be deemed hurtful or over the line." Um, speaking cruelly about someone's children is always hurtful and over the line... hello!

hello random drug tests, goodbye kids

Britney Spears was seen running errands (specifically: buying hair dye at Ralph's) with BFF Allie on September 12, looking the least like a hot mess we've seen her in a while! Wearing a floaty floral dress (Tricia Fix's Goddess Long Dress with Rope in Pink, Ecoganik's Bamboo Knotted Strap Dress in Tulip and Woo's Ashley Dress in Tangerine are all similar to the fallen pop princess' frock) with gold bangles, black shades and a brightly colored headscarf (like Karen Zambos' Head Band in Orange Floral), Brit-Brit didn't bother to smile for the photogs (and why would she, after VMA-gate?). While it's been very up in the air whether or not she is going to lose custody of her children, the court has now ordered Britney to have random, bi-weekly drug tests because (as the Los Angeles County Court Commission says) she is a "habitual, frequent and continuous user of drugs and alcohol," in addition to meeting with a parenting coach. The risk of Britney losing custody altogether of Sean Preston and Jayden James is high, as Kevin was awarded sole custody of the boys until a further court date on Monday. Come on Britney- for your sake, work it out girl!

Britney does her thing at the VMA's

It's probably pretty obvious to say that you've seen Britney Spears' now infamous MTV VMA performance, and in case you haven’t, here's a little recap. In my opinion, Brit had a chance to blow everyone away with a monumental comeback performance, and she just didn't do that. Clad in a bejeweled bra and panties, Brit did her thing while lip-synching her way through her hot new single, "Gimme More". I wish she had given me more! Britney just didn't seem to have that passion, that spark, that she once did, and now reports are saying that this was due to the fact that she overheard Sarah Silverman's opening monologue bashing Brit's kids, and threatened to pull out. Blame Sarah! Her mean-spirited "comedy" is not funny, and Brit had a chance to do something truly special, yet failed to deliver. On the positive side, at least she is releasing hot new music (including "Gimme More" and a newly released song entitled "Kiss You All Over") and getting back to performing. She's come a long way from the head-shaving, umbrella-wielding Britney we knew a few months ago! Brit was out and about partying in Vegas prior to her VMA's performance, and was spotted here with Alli in a fedora, aviators and a golden silk number (similar to Gold Hawk's Embroidered Tank in Cobblestone or their Tunic in Nutmeg Print). Please, get it together Brit!

her new single- almost here!

A new re-platinum haired Britney Spears picked up some groceries at Ralph's in LA on August 26, smiling and obviously having more fun now that she's a blonde. Wearing a LBD (like Betsey Johnson's Trapeze Dress in Black or Peace of Us' 3/4 Sleeve Cowl Neck Dress in Black) with black pumps and a wine colored bag (like Aaneta's The Mermaid Bag in Medium in Cordoban), Britney has been pretty good lately about keeping her fashion atrocities to a minimum. Oh wait, I spoke to soon. Brit-Brit was recently spotted out and about in what she thought was a dress, but was obviously a shirt in actually. Full moon in Los Angeles! Just to clarify- this wasn't the day that her Mercedes ran out of gas on Beverly Dr. and had to be pushed by the police… that's a whole other can of worms. Probably the most prominent Britney gossip of the week is that Ms. Spears is set to release her new official single "Gimme More" (the track which she shot the video for last month) on the radio next week. Produced by Timbaland associate Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, the single is allegedly "funky" and "hot" according to industry insiders. Can't wait to hear!

dare i say- she's looking good!

Britney Spears was spotted leaving Hollywood hotspot Opera on August 23, after a rumored rehearsal for a VMA performance. The jury is still out on whether or not Brit is going to have a surprise performance, at first she was, then she wasn't.. now she might? Who can keep up! I just say you need to tune in to find out. Looking (and I am a little shocked to say this) better than we've seen her in a while, Brit stepped out in a white button-up (like Raw 7's Button-Down Blouse in White) with black velvet shorts (check out Johnson's similar Millicent Shorts in Black) and her favorite boots. There is new gossip spreading now about how Britney is potentially being investigated by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, and an unscheduled hearing happened this morning with Britney and K-Fed's lawyers. TMZ hasn't learned the details of today's hearing yet, however a follow-up hearing is scheduled for September 4th. Oh Britney, what craziness is going to happen next?

ALLI SERVED COURT PAPERS- AT 3AM!

Britney Spears was out and about once again with cousin and ex-assistant Alli Sims on August 11, as the two stopped into a drug store and bought, much to everyone's surprise, a book! Brit picked up 50 Truths Worth Knowing, an uplifting book about how the biggest truths in life are often revealed in surprisingly simple ways. Wearing jean cutoff shorts (Freedom of Choice's Captain Short in FPD Blues are similar but a little bit, ahem, classier than Brit's) with aviators, a newsboy cap and a button-down (like For Love and Liberty's Love Angels Blouse in Cream), Britney seemed to be in pretty good spirits in front of the paparazzi. These good spirits might be pretty short lived, however, once Brit-Brit finds out about how Alli was served with legal papers forcing her to testify in court at Britney and Kevin Federline's divorce hearing. Were these papers served in private, you ask? Of course not! Alli was served the subpoena at 3:30am as she was leaving a house party, which left her shocked and in tears, as it was all documented by the waiting paparazzi. Can you say publicity stunt? K-Fed's lawyer said that he "can tell you that we believe she [Alli] has been around the environment where the kids are and she's been around and witness to many things." The plot thickens!
