Spotted: Katie Holmes shopping at Maxfield in West Hollywood, California on Friday, December 21. Holmes has recently been gaining more and more attention for her new interest in high fashion, and has definitely not disappointed this time. It appears that since becoming friends with fashion icon Victoria Beckham, the fashion bug is clearly contagious. Even in the most simplistic pieces, Holmes still manages to look like a million bucks and we're definitely not the only ones who think so. OK! Magazine just recently named Katie Holmes as their most stylish star of 2007, topping new BFF Posh Spice. Katie began her outfit with a pair of fierce red pumps, and wore a short black skirt with oversized pockets (similar to LaROK's Rita Skirt in Black), which provided as a strong vocal piece of her outfit. Keeping it simple on top, Holmes opted for a skinny turtleneck in white (check out Kushcush's Skinny Turtleneck in White) and colored it up with a simple string of colorful pearls (check out Brian Nagourney's Jewelry's Pearl Lariat with Red Coral). Katie also lugged around a cognac colored handbag big enough to fit Suri in (check out Posse New York's Carola Bag in Cognac ) and completed her Jackie O look with a pair of oversized black sunglasses (similar to Nour's Baba Sunglasses in Oro Bianco ). Holmes has been living quite extravagantly since marrying husband Tom Cruise. Just that week it was reported that Katie spent $100,000 on a shopping spree, not including the big bags Katie's security detail were seen carrying out of high priced boutique Maxfield. We can only assume a lifestyle like this can be satisfied on Tom's salary, not hers. A pair of boots alone at hip boutique Maxfield can cost over $10,000, who knows what Katie managed to put on Tom's tab while spending substantial time inside.
